D:CODE brings Detroit and Dresden together at Paula Club for a night dedicated to the roots, spirit and ongoing evolution of electronic music. At the heart of the event is Huey Mnemonic, a Detroit DJ, producer and sound artist connected to the Underground Resistance Detroit community. Alongside local artists, he creates a meeting point between musical heritage and contemporary club culture.

Joining him are AXOON Live, Emaille b2b Blisss, Spunky and COLINE, all deeply rooted in Dresden's techno underground. Each brings a distinct approach to techno, hypnotic grooves, house and electronic exploration. The quartal.records Label Corner adds another point of connection to the local techno scene. The BASE Revival community also joins the journey, keeping the spirit of one of Dresden's iconic techno institutions alive since 1995.

Detroit became one of the defining cities in electronic music history. In the early 1980s, DJs and producers brought together elements of funk, soul, disco and electro, shaping a new musical language through synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers. The result was futuristic yet deeply human: precise, forward-looking and driven by groove, melody and emotion. Detroit techno was born. Through records, labels, DJs and clubs, the sound travelled around the world and helped shape European club culture.

The connection between Detroit and Berlin's legendary Tresor club, celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, became an important chapter in techno history. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 opened new spaces for freedom, cultural change and electronic music. In the years that followed, Detroit's underground sound and Berlin's emerging club culture came together in a powerful exchange. Detroit had shown how music could become resistance, a vision for the future and a force that connects people. That spirit travelled further east, finding its way into Dresden's emerging techno scene.

D:CODE carries that spirit forward. This is not about nostalgia or recreating the past, it is about keeping the ideas behind the music alive - curiosity, creative freedom and the meeting of machine, human expression and groove.

Two cities. Different histories. One shared frequency.
TECHNO. HOUSE. DETROIT DNA.
