Recent years have shown that we must protect ourselves, our demonstrations, and our Pride events from neo-Nazis. Whether in Bautzen, Görlitz, or at the CSD in Dresden: Neo-Nazis organize "counter-protests" against Pride events and attack participants. For many, traveling to and participating in these events has become less of an empowering experience and more of a threatening situation.
In this skills training session, we want to practice dealing with such dangerous situations and protect ourselves as a group from attacks at and around demonstrations. To do this, we’ll use (partly) playful exercises to run through possible attack scenarios and practice various group and movement sequences.
Come in your everyday clothes and feel free to bring your protest gear (such as a flag, umbrella, or banner).
