Zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung GAMECHANGER am Freitag, 24.02.2023 um 18 Uhr laden wir herzlich in unseren Ausstellungsraum am Neustädter Markt 9 in Dresden ein.
DE_Wir spielen: Verstecken, Schach, Fußball, Flöte oder Theater. Wir spielen als Gruppe oder als Team. Mit oder gegeneinander. Manchmal spielen wir allein. Wir spielen on- und offline, bauen Plätze, extra dem Spiel zugeordnet oder verspielen all unser Geld an Automaten. Seit Generationen lassen wir Spiele olympisch werden und im schlimmsten Fall veranstalten wir einen Pärchen-Spiel-Abend. Das Spielen ist fester Bestandteil unserer Kultur und scheint dem Wesen des Menschen innezuwohnen. Schon als Säuglinge beginnen wir zu spielen und lernen so uns und unsere Umwelt kennen. Im Kindesalter wird das Spielen zu einem unserer Haupttagespunkte und findet immer mehr auch im sozialen Miteinander statt. Werden wir erwachsen, nimmt das Spielen weniger Zeit in Anspruch, hält nun immer mehr der „Ernst des Lebens“ Einzug. Das Spiel hat für uns keine physische Notwendigkeit und noch viel weniger erwartet jemand von uns, dass wir spielen. Wenn wir spielen, tun wir es nur um des Spielens willen. Genau diese Merkwürdigkeit macht die Schönheit des Spielens aus. Claudia Holzinger und Hanna Kučera nutzen das Spiel in unterschiedlichen Formen, als Basis ihrer künstlerischen Arbeiten. In ihrer gemeinsamen Ausstellung GAMECHANGER treffen humorvolle Fotografien, in denen Holzinger in die Rollen berühmter Männer schlüpft, auf eine performativ bespielte Installation Kučeras, in der sich Körper und skulpturale Objekte in einem Play begegnen. Durch Zusammenführung der beiden Positionen entsteht eine absurde Elastic-Slow-Motion-Breakdown-Show.

EN_We play: Hide and seek, chess, football, flute or theatre. We play as a group or as a team. With or against each other. Sometimes we play alone. We play on- and offline, build places, extra assigned to the game or gamble away all our money on vending machines. For generations we have made games Olympic and at worst we have a couples game night. Playing games is an integral part of our culture and seems to be inherent in the nature of human beings. Even as infants we begin to play, learning about ourselves and the world around us. In childhood, play becomes one of our main daily activities and takes place more and more in social interaction. As we grow up, play takes up less and less of our time, and the "serious side of life" takes over more and more. Play has no physical necessity for us and even less does anyone expect us to play. When we play, we do it just for the sake of playing. It is precisely this strangeness that constitutes the beauty of play. Claudia Holzinger and Hanna Kučera use play in different forms, as the basis of their artistic works. In their joint exhibition GAMECHANGER, humorous photographs in which Holzinger slips into the roles of famous men meet a performative installation by Kučera, in which bodies and sculptural objects meet in a play. By merging the two positions, an absurd elastic-slow-motion-breakdown show is created.
