POLITICAL ART NIGHTS PRESENTS: WORKSHOP 23.10 18:30-21:30 CULTIVATING HOPEFUL NARRATIVES
>explore new ways of story telling with stop motion animation<
Which narratives dominate our perception of the world? Which narratives do we need to navigate and move through current societal, political and planetary crises? What kinds of story telling embody and pave the way forward to a more beautiful world of inter-being and interconnectedness? We want to explore these questions together with you through creative methods! We will begin the workshop with a cozy and mindful read aloud of texts on deep ecology, embodied activism and collective transformation (based on works by Joanna Macy, Charles Eisenstein). Afterwards we will bring to life the questions and ideas generated in the first part of the workshop by creating moving collages with stop motion animation. This process will be guided with reflection and sharing exercises, informed by art therapy methods. Although there will be the opportunity to work individually, it is our intention to create a creative, shared, safer space that allows for making new connections to others, exploring new ideas and exchanging perspectives respectfully.
WHAT TO BRING Please bring your phone well charged as we will use for the stop motion animation. If possible, download the free version of the app „Stop Motion Studios“ before the workshop. Feel free to bring a notebook for taking notes or a more professional digital camera if you have.
WORKSHOP FACILITATION The workshop will be facilitated by the PAN team members Maja and Mari in collaboration with Elia Griebel (animation artist, art therapist, art educator).
