Oberflächen bestimmen unser Verhalten in der Welt der Dinge. Sie sind es, die unser Vorstellungsvermögen und unseren Erfahrungsspeicher ansprechen. Die Oberflächliche ist das unmittelbar Erfassbare, das, was sich schnell erschließt – so scheint es. Die Auflösung fester Konturen und die komplexe Auseinandersetzung mit Materialqualitäten und Oberflächentexturen bilden die Essenz der Arbeiten von Bettina Scholz und Konrad Hanke. Sie spielen mit dem Objektcharakter und machen die Oberfläche zum wesentlichen Bezugspunkt. Die Narrative der Inspirationsquellen werden so zu diffusen Szenarien, die das Dargestellte für die Rezipient*innen in andere Assoziationsebenen gleiten lassen. In SHINING geben uns die Künstler*innen die Möglichkeit unsere ästhetischen Erfahrungen zu erweitern, für die heute ansonsten kaum mehr spekulativer Raum gegeben ist.

Um euren Besuch so sicher wie möglich zu gestalten, müssen wir auf das Folgende hinweisen:
- Die Anmeldung über euren Besuch erfolgt per Mail über mail@stephanie-kelly.de. Bitte gebt das Datum und die Uhrzeit eures gewünschten Termins an.
- Hinterlasst in der Mail bitte die Kontaktdaten aller angemeldeten Personen (Name, Handynummer, E-Mail). Eure Daten werden lediglich zur eventuellen Kontaktnachverfolgung gespeichert und nach 2 Wochen gelöscht.
- Erlaubt sind lediglich Gruppen von maximal fünf Personen aus zwei verschiedenen Haushalten.
- Tragt einen medizinischen Mund-Nasen-Schutz (OP- oder FFP2-Maske)
haltet den Abstand von 1,5 Metern ein.
- Desinfektionsmittel stehen in der Kelly bereit.
- Kommt bitte nur, wenn ihr gesund seid.

Surfaces determine our behavior in the world of things. They are what appeals to our imagination and our memory of experience. The superficial is what can be immediately grasped, what is quickly revealed - so it seems. The dissolution of fixed contours and the complex examination of material qualities and surface textures are the essence of the works of Bettina Scholz and Konrad Hanke. They play with the object character and make the surface an essential reference point. The narratives of the sources of inspiration become diffuse scenarios, which allow what is depicted to slide into other levels of association for the recipient. In SHINING, the artists* give us the opportunity to expand our aesthetic experiences, for which today there is hardly any speculative space left.

After months of closing the Stephanie Kelly Gallery, we are opening our doors from 25 March and are pleased to present the exhibition S H I N I N G with works by Betti Schulz and Konrad Hanke.
In order to make your visit as safe as possible, we must point out the following:
- You can register for your visit by sending an email to mail@stephanie-kelly.de. Please enter the date and time of your desired appointment.
- Please leave the contact details of all registered persons (name, mobile phone number, email) in the email. 
- Your data will only be saved for possible contact tracing and will be deleted after 2 weeks.
- Only groups of maximum five people from two different households are allowed.
- Wear a medical mouth/nose protection (OP or FFP2 mask).
- Keep a distance of 1.5 metres from each other.
- Disinfectants are available in the Kelly.
- Please come only if you are healthy.
